About Hanmer Helicopters

Hanmer Helicopters is a long-standing, safe, reliable helicopter service, providing helicopter services to the agricultural & farming industries, hunters and fishermen since 1988.

While our services began with agricultural based work, in recent years, our services have diversified into tourism and sporting activities. Due to our pilots' experience and knowledge of the Hanmer Springs, Canterbury and Kaikoura districts, we have become popular with tourists for our scenic flight tours and helicopter transfer services.

Hanmer Springs Helicopters™ is recognised as a leader within the New Zealand Aviation Industry. It is certified as an air transport, commercial transport, aerial work and agricultural aviation work operator throughout New Zealand. We have the highest standards in safety and assurance policies.

All our helicopter pilots are very experienced, not only in flying helicopters, but they also have an intimate knowledge of our region's many unique features.

We have a fleet of three helicopters, all of which are fitted with the latest Tracmap GPS systems for absolute quality assurance for our customers.

All helicopters are fitted with a real time flight tracking system which is incorporated into the safety policies of the company and provides accurate helicopter positions anywhere in New Zealand. Please refer to the TracPlus website for further information on this system

Hanmer Springs Helicopters™ has been operating in the Canterbury-Kaikoura region since 1988. We began under the name of 'Amuri Helicopters', and, in fact, still operate under the Amuri Helicopters Air Operator Certificate.

We operate from our main base in Hanmer Springs - 5 kms south of Hanmer Springs township.
